The Challenge…
Patty was laid off from her job in February due to cuts in federal grant funding. When she lost her job, she was unable to afford her $500 per month heating bill. Patty found herself “job searching under three blankets, wearing a hat and gloves inside [her] own apartment.”
The Solution…
Patty learned about our LIHEAP/Fuel Assistance program at Action Inc. “I am so grateful to the Action Fuel Assistance program for helping me keep the heat on this winter,” she said. “Without them, I would not have been able to afford electricity, groceries, and rent these past two months. Their help directly kept me from heat shut-off, and indirectly allowed me to stay in my home and afford my basic needs.”
