Statement from MASSCAP: October 2025

Oct 6, 2025

To our valued clients, partners, and friends across the state:

While the federal landscape may be shifting, Community Action Agencies continue to deliver the essential services our neighbors rely on every day.

Unfortunately, due to the federal government shutdown, it is possible that we may see an interruption in some services. However, if you are in need of support, please reach out to your local Community Action Agency for more specific information related to your service area. You may find contact information for all statewide agencies here.

Our team at MASSCAP and the Community Action Agencies are in close communication with our state and national partners, and we are actively monitoring these daily developments to ensure that any changes at the federal level are communicated clearly to our community as we weigh the impact on our programs locally.

Founded in 1964 as part of the War on Poverty, Community Action Agencies have navigated change for six decades—and we will continue to do so with transparency, resilience, and a deep commitment to the people we serve.

We are here for you. We are with you. And we will continue to assist, advocate, adapt, and work with the Community Action Agencies to help vulnerable people in every city and town become economically stable and mobile.

If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to us at MASSCAP https://www.masscap.org/about/contact/ or to our members https://www.masscap.org/agencies/

Thank you.
