Finding creative and sustainable solutions that promote economic stability and alleviate the destabilizing effects of poverty on our neighbors in the Berkshires
Advocacy & Support
The mission of the Community Action Agency of Somerville (CAAS) is to reduce poverty among local families and individuals while working to counteract – and whenever possible, eliminate – the societal conditions that cause and perpetuate poverty.
GLCAC opens pathways to stability and prosperity for people in need, and prepares them to make decisions that will positively affect their lives.
Through partnerships, community engagement, and advocacy, we provide pathways to assist families and individuals in their efforts to realize economic opportunity and create meaningful connections to improve the quality of their lives.
SHI removes barriers to ensure that opportunities are available for all residents to obtain health services, child care, education, housing, employment and financial stability.
By strengthening and coordinating existing efforts, SSCAC’s mission is to eliminate poverty along the South Shore by affording everyone in need the opportunities for education, training and work; to live with dignity; to contribute to the full extent of their capabilities; and to participate in the workings of our society.
