Anne Rawson, Community Action, Inc.'s Fiscal Director, organized CAI's Technology Committee before the MASSCAP IT Conference in May, but after the conference, the work of the committee became more focused.
"I walked away from that conference with three goals. To develop a technology plan that we could use to raise funds. To develop centralized intake process and form in response to DHCD's unduplicated client count request. And, to create IT policies and procedures."
She and CAI Deputy Director Marge Hooper, with the approval of CAI Executive Director John Cuneo, organized the committee in the early Spring. Rawson saw the need for an agency-wide technology planning approach after she began to upgrade the fiscal systems.
"I was inspired to move beyond the fiscal systems," she pointed out.
The 15 members of the committee are drawn from the agency's major programs; 4-5 members sit on three subcommittees dedicated to the goals Rawson brought back from the conference. The committee will meet again in September and discuss the information the subcommittees have gathered.
