MASSCAP Advancing Citizens Energy Program to Help Low-Income People

MASSCAP is collaborating with Citizens Energy Corp. to ensure that affordable heating oil is available for the state's most vulnerable populations.

MASSCAP is connecting needy individuals to a Citizens Energy program that provides low-cost heating oil to low-income and working households that also benefit from Federal fuel assistance.

MASSCAP conducts outreach on the Citizens Energy program to its 25 member agencies and helps agency staff identify individuals in the served communities that would benefit from the assistance. Citizens Energy is a non-profit company founded and directed by Joe Kennedy. Its mission is to make life's basic needs more accessible and affordable.

Low-Cost Heating Oil. The Oil Heat Program allows needy Bay State residents to purchase one-time deliveries of discount home heating oil. The program works through local fuel-assistance agencies. Over the years, the program has provided millions of gallons of low-cost fuel to thousands of low-income and elderly households in Massachusetts.
